Record Payout for Kensington Private Equity Fund

Distribution to Investors Based On Strong Performance

Toronto, October 22, 2014 – Kensington Capital Advisors Inc. is pleased to announce a distribution to Unitholders of Kensington Private Equity Fund of $2.26 per Unit, for a total distribution of approximately $7.4 million. The distribution will be paid on October 24, 2014 to Unitholders of record on October 23, 2014.

The current distribution represents a new high point for the Fund reflecting the strong performance of the private equity portfolio. The net asset value (NAV) of the Fund has increased by over 23% in the past 12 months. The Fund, formed in 2007 to provide investors with better access to private equity, now has four consecutive years of increased distributions to Unitholders.

“This distribution reflects the ongoing maturity of the Fund’s investments and the strong market we have enjoyed during the recent past for the sale of mid-market and growth companies said Tom Kennedy, a Kensington Managing Director. We are pleased with this performance and excited about the future of the portfolio because of the investments we continue to hold.”

The NAV of the Fund is calculated and published on the Kensington Capital Partners Limited website www.kcpl.ca twice each month. The NAV will also be calculated and published on Friday October 24th so that those investors who re-invest their distributions through the Fund’s Distribution Re-Investment Plan (DRIP) will know the Unit value of their re-investment.

The Kensington Private Equity Fund is the successor to the Kensington Global Private Equity Fund, pursuant to a transaction that was recently approved by Unitholders. The Kensington Private Equity Fund is a private closed end fund that provides accredited investors with a means of investing in the private equity market. The Fund’s performance to date is published on the website, and the Fund’s units are available on FundSERV. Private equity is an alternative asset class that has little correlation with the public markets. Kensington manages the Private Equity Fund to minimize risk through diversification and capture upside through active management.
