Eventbase raises $6.5M for mobile event technology platform used by IBM, Microsoft, Cisco

News Brief: Vancouver, B.C.-based startup Eventbase today announced a $6.5 million investment round. Madrona Venture Group; BC Tech Fund; Kensington Capital; Silicon Valley Bank; and Espresso Capital participated. Eventbase builds event applications for enterprise clients such as IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, TD Ameritrade, Century 21, SXSW, CES, Comic-Con, the Sundance Film Festival, and the Olympic Games. The company, formerly known as Xomo, started out as a small group of entrepreneurs building an app for the 2010 Olympic Games. Total funding to date is $14.5 million.
